In My Dream

Have you had a chance to read Iranian president’s open letter to American citizens? If you have not, take a couple minutes to read it. It’s only 5 pages. As many Americans react to his letter (which is good, it means they read it), this is how to start a communication with US at the same dimension. You can guess that does end up with Pro and Con about the letter, besides both countries have been tied with not-good relationship back in 1979.

One of the comments cynically mentioned “How dare he, evil, give a lecture to our country”. Other said, “That would be a good approach to talk about the different views”, and so on, and so fourth. I am not on neither side of the controversy. The things can happen from many angles of view. People (leader, especially) around the world should take this as a lesson learned process. While many things can be explored and studied, the true truth is a universal value. Deep down in everybody’s heart will agree that every single human being in this planet deserves equal justice.

To reveal the truth, only a true leader can do it. A fake leader does not even know how to start with. This is the value of leadership. You may disagree with it but there is no such university in the world that guarantees their program can produce a true leader. Not even Harvard, Yale or MIT. To me, a true leader is born with a skill. The skill is very unique that can not be taught in formal educational institution. One thing that I would like to highlight here, True Leader is not a monopoly or belongs to a certain region. It does not matter whether s/he is born in Asia, Africa or America, or s/he studies in Harvard University or Bangladesh University. As long as s/he has values in her/his way of life and strives to meet the values, then s/he is the chosen one with kind of great quality person. It sounds simple, but nowadays, a true leader is an extinct “animal”. You may not find one in a billion people or even in the next two generations. Why? Is Gifted and Talented person really vanished? (Sigh)…Don’t know.

Having higher education does not make an automatic impact becoming a leader. These two variables are independent each other. But, having knowledge will protect us from being bullied or driven by someone else. In that sense, leader with full of knowledge will be more valuable than those who have without it. That draws a bold line of distinction between a true leader and an ordinary leader.

I do not personally know who Iranian President is. And, I can guarantee you that I do not have any relationship with him whatsoever in any ways. The thing is “If the truth comes out from two different people (an ugly man and a handsome man), will it change the essence?” Again, when we claim that we live in a civilized society why we don’t act like one.

I am who I am. ”Once in my life, I’d like to do something that gives benefit to our society. Once? Yes, just once, then I can rest in peace and bring a smile face on my death bed.” May Allah bless what I have been asking for and giving strength to fulfill this long-term commitment. Amen.
