Somerville: a Giant Steak ..... (New Picture)

If this Medium Sirloin Steak (above) comes with two pieces, can you imagine what the size for Super Large Sirloin Steak is?

What do you know about Texas? There are two things that come up in our mind when people mention about Texas. First is about the jargon “Bigger is Better”. Second is about the cowboy. (Not to mention about Southern accent, Oil resources, Hurricane, etc). Cowboy will bring the thoughts into live stock, desert and a special meat, steak.

Last week of December 2006, we went to Somerville, about 20 miles west of College Station, Texas. This time, we departed from many places, i.e. College Station, Houston, Woodlands, Katy, and Buenos Aires, Argentina. Friends and relatives congregated with the total of 12 families (25 adults and 15 kids) took pleasure in such a moment.

What is so special about Somerville? This small town is nothing but a quite town. If you’ve ever watched the new movie of Pixar “Cars” in route 66, so you may have an imagination about the town. Well not exactly like that, it just gave you an idea how the town looks like. Somerville may be a bit crowded compared with the movie.

There is a special place in this town called Country Inn Restaurant that served beef steak with a giant size. They have an option starting from 8 oz to 20 oz beef with many type of steak, T-Bone or Sirloin, or you named it. It is fresh meat. If you are not a devotee of steak, they also served other menu. I am not promoting beef steak and, believe me, I am not part of the marketing member of the Country Inn Restaurant in Somerville. You say what you see. You scream what you feel.

I wish I could have a complete picture of these events. Our Guru, bang Zul, has it. You may also ask his opinion about the place. Or, if you reside outside Texas, you may ask mbak Nunuk and mas Rinto who deliberately joined our field trips from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Gracias! (Prahoro Nurtjahyo, Monday, 25 December 2006)

Our special guest from Argentina (mas Rinto and mbak Nunuk) who feels full already after seeing the size of the steak.

This new couple (Buyung and Anis) has shared everything, including one plate of a medium sized T-Bone steak.

The Putras Family's waiting their order.

Happy family.

Eat whatever you have ordered. That's good attitude :-)

Our Gurus enjoy their first order.

This was their first time visited this place. How can he claim as an Aggies?

Having a right partner is very important to finish your order.

Having a right partner is very important to finish your order (cont'd)
